Parent/Child (Ages 6-36 months) This program is a water orientation class designed for parent and child participation. It encourages the bond of trust between parent and child and teaches parents how to supervise and guide their children around the water. One adult must be in the water with each child at all times. Register Online Fall 2010 Schedule (PDF) Preschool (Ages 3-5 years) The preschool program has four levels designed to help children progress and build elementary swimming and safety skills. Children are placed in small groups with YMCA trained instructors. Emphasis is on developing coordination, endurance, and self-confidence of the preschooler. Register Online Fall 2010 Schedule (PDF) Progressive (Ages 6-12 years) The progressive swim program has six levels designed to help children grow personally and develop strokes and safety skills. Emphasis is on endurance, personal safety, skill development and lifesaving techniques. Register Online Fall 2010 Schedule (PDF) Adult Swim Lessons (Ages 13 years and over) Adult swim lessons are for those individuals who wish to learn how to swim or for those who want to work on their technique. Classes have a low student-to-instructor ratio which allows for one-on-one instruction in each class. Skills include basic water acclimation, floating, treading, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, diving and much more. Get Schedule or Register Online Special Needs Swim Lessons (Ages 3-17 years) This program is a water orientation class designed for individuals with special needs who may require a low student-to-instructor ratio. All staff are trained in CPR and First Aid. Please bring specific information regarding your child's special need(s). Communication between the parent and the instructor is essential for the success of the program.
Stroke Clinic (Ages 5-17 years) The Stroke Clinic is for those who wish to reach a competitive level of swimming. Each participant must be able to swim 50 yards continuously; 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke. Breaststroke, butterfly,starts and turns will be introduced. Get Schedule or Register Online Private Lessons (Ages 3 years and over) Private swim lessons are for those individuals who wish to learn to swim at their own pace, or those who want to work on their technique. Classes have a one-on-one instruction ratio. Skills include basic water acclimation, floating, treading, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, diving and much more.
