AGES 5-13

The Chestnut Street Summer Fun Day Camp provides youth with supervised activities that teach core values, conflict resolution and leadership skills. Our kids have fun while building self-confidence, appreciating teamwork and gaining independence.

Kids enjoy creating arts and crafts, exploring science and technology, swimming, gaining an appreciation for nature and better understanding our many cultures. Campers will enjoy a session of water safety at the beginning of summer with YMCA instructors, and we will have monthly Family Nights, an end-of-summer Talent Show and an overnight trip to Camp Piomingo. We also participate in the Library Summer Reading Program.

Join us for an informational evening where you can meet our summer day camp staff and learn about all the activities and field trips that we have scheduled for this summer.
Thursday, June 5, 6:00-7:30 pm
Chestnut Street Family YMCA

We will participate in the summer lunch program with healthy lunches provided daily, except the last week of camp.

The Chestnut Street Family YMCA is a Kid's Café site. As an additional benefit, campers can join us for the evening meal at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This free service is a part of the Dare to Care outreach program.

June 9-13: Building a Home: We will begin the summer by building a sense of community. Each group will begin a bullying curriculum that will last the majority of the summer.
June 16-20: Fear Factor: We will have ooey, gooey fun this week and will also have a drama performance by George.
June 23-27: Imaginarium: You can create anything you imagine. We will have many activities that will encourage us to use our imaginations, including a visit from Paint Spot.
June 30-July 3: Disco Dayz: A blast from the past with rad clothes and big hair! There will be a groovy disco party this week in our ball room.
July 7-11: All Ball: Ball games reign supreme this week! Have fun playing games you know, and learn new ball games children play in other cultures.
July 14-18: Nature Goodness: We will discover the greatness of nature and learn how to take care of nature so future children can enjoy it. We will have a catch and release fishing trip at Beckley Park.
July 21-25: Magic of Science: From the stars in space to the ants in the dirt, pick your favorite science subject to explore.
July 28-Aug 1: Survivor: You can't have camp without a Survivor challenge at Camp Piomingo! We will enjoy archery, pipeline slide, obstacle course bouncers and more during the day, and some kids may even be able to stay the night and "rough it" at the campground.
Aug 4-8: Aloha Summer: All good things must come to an end. Send summer off and prepare to go back for school with a t-shirt signing, a friendship booklet and our annual talent show.
