ROCK WALL

Experience our 40-foot Rock Wall and challenge yourself every time you climb. Climbers can choose from six distinctive routes to scale their way to the top.

*There will be no Rock Wall hours on Saturdays and Sundays in June and July 2017.

  • Open to ages 6 and up
  • Must fit in harness
  • Tennis shoes or climbing shoes only
  • Must have signed waiver on file (under 18 must have parent's signature)

ROCK WALL TRAINING

ADULT CLIMBING CLINICS

Students will learn basic climbing skills: use of harness, knot tying, climbing commands/terminology, body position, belaying, safety and climbing techniques.

First Wednesday of every month; 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Facility Members: $10; Program Members: $25


BELAY CLINIC AND TESTING

On the third Wednesday of each month, students will learn how to attach a harness, tie proper knots and understand safe belay techniques and terms of the sport. Once you have taken the class, passed your test and been cleared by the instructor, you will be released to climb and belay without belay device under supervision of a rock wall instructor during open climb hours.

Facility Members: $25; Program Members: $40

ROCK WALL PERSONAL TRAINING

Have a one-on-one experience on the rock wall to learn more about climbing or to advance your skills. Sessions are one hour. Contact Julie Blocher at 812.206.4899 or at jblocher@ymcalouisville.org to set up training sessions.
