Q: Do I have to sign a contract?
A: No, we don't require you to sign a contract. We offer month to month memberships, with an option to draft your account on the 1st or 15th of each month. We know you'll find great value in your Y membership. However, if you do decide to cancel please complete a 5-day written cancellation notice (prior to your next draft date), available at the Member Services Desk at your home branch. Did we mention our 30-day money back guarantee? If you're not completely satisfied with the Y within your first 30-days of being a Y member, we will refund your money.
Q: How do I pay for my Y membership?
A: Your membership will be drafted monthly from your bank account or credit card on the 1st or 15th of the month. Annual payment in full is also available. You can change your payment method at anytime by calling or stopping in at your Y.
Q: Does the Y offer financial assistance for membership and programs?
A: The Y is for everyone. We offer affordable membership and program rates based on household income. Please stop by the branch or give us a call to discuss whether you are eligible for assistance.
A: Yes, the Northeast Y offers a variety of locker room options for your privacy and security.
Men’s and Women’s Locker Rooms are available for all members that are 18 years and older. The Boys’ Family Locker Room is available for boys under 17 years old and men with children of both gender under 7 years old. All adults in the Boys’ Family Locker Room must be accompanied by a child. The Girls’ Family Locker Room is available for girls under 17 years old and women with children of both gender under 7 years old. All adults in the Girls’ Family Locker Room must be accompanied by a child. Individual unisex bathrooms are available off of the main and back hallways. All Locker Rooms are handicap accessible.
We keep a limited supply of locks at the Welcome Center for your convenience. We encourage you to bring their own lock to ensure that your belongings are secure at all times. For questions regarding our locker rooms, please stop by the Welcome Center.
Q: Is there someone who can show me how to use the machines or give me workout advice?
A: Yes! We offer free fitness coaching to help meet your goals. Whether you have a question about machines or need some help to get you started, our healthy living coaches are here to help. Schedule your appointment the next time you stop by the branch.
Q: What can my kids do at the Y?
A: There are many youth programs to help your child learn, grow and thrive. From youth sports, swim lessons to leadership programs, you can find an enriching program for your children at any age.
Q: Do you offer child care while I work out?
A: Yes! Members whose children are included on their family membership can use our free Child Care service and feel comforted to know that they children are in a safe and nurturing environment while they work out.
Q: Do you have programs for seniors?
A: We have a number of programs for active older adults, ranging from group exercise classes tailored to the needs of seniors, social groups and volunteer opportunities. The Y is and ideal place for older adults to keep moving and stay healthy, while being involved in their community.
Q: Can I bring guests?
A: You are welcome to bring guests with you to enjoy the Y. As a membership organization, our first obligation is to our members to ensure the value of your Y membership. We welcome you to bring guests with just a few guidelines, including:
- A current Y member (age 21 years or older) may accompany 1 guest to the Y
- A family may bring a family with at least 1 adult present
- Any guest under the age of 21 must be with an adult at all times
- We welcome guests with a maximum of 2 free visits with a member per year (daily fees apply afterward)

Q: Can I use other Ys when I'm traveling?
A: Yes! Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your "home” YMCA (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a member and that collects your membership dues). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our cause of strengthening communities.
What You Need To Know
- Valid for active, full facility YMCA members
- Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time
- Program-only participants (including SilverSneakers Programs) and special memberships are not eligible for Nationwide Membership
- When visiting a Y, nationwide members will be required to show a valid YMCA membership card and photo ID, as well as provide basic membership data such as name and email address
