Social Responsibility is one of the three focus areas of the YMCA of Greater Louisville. Generosity toward others is at the core of the Y's existence. It is through the support of our volunteers that the Northeast Family Y is able to give back to the community. When you are involved with our Y, you have the opportunity to bring lasting personal and social change to others.

Our 49th Annual Turkey Trot is coming up soon!  This 5k/10k/Kids Trot is the longest running Thanksgiving day race in the city. we invite you to be part of this exciting event by being a Turkey Trot volunteer. This is a great opportunity to serve your community, get service hours, and have fun during the holiday! Sign up to volunteer!

Here are some of the ways you can make a difference:

The YMCA of Greater Louisville helped over 19,000 people this past year through funds raised by our Annual Campaign Fundraisers. Programs like Safety Around Water, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, and Adaptive Sports are made possible through this volunteer opportunity.

If you are looking for a rewarding experience where you will meet new people and give back to your community, it's time to learn more about becoming a Y volunteer.

For more information, please contact Andrea Ackermann at aackermann@ymcalouisville.org.

The purpose of the Togetherhood Initiative is to get the YMCA more involved in the community. We will do this by participating in four volunteer projects over the course of a year. These projects will be one-day events where our Y members can volunteer and give back to organizations that need our help.

For more information, please contact Barb Millhollan at livestrong@ymcalouisville.org.

Create an organization able to meet the greatest needs of our community through valuable programs and services, allowing individuals and families to learn, grow and thrive at the Y. More information about upcoming Program & Special Events volunteer opportunities coming soon!

The YMCA wouldn't be the same without our volunteers and Youth Sports is no exception. Coaching at the Y allows you to make a difference in your community and in the lives of many children. To learn more, please click here.
