Kamp Kermit gives your child the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging while they spend their summer making friends. Activities will include our weekly visits to take care of the small farm animals we have for camp. Weekly trips to the Oldham County Aquatic Center, camp songs, crafts, and each camper has the ability to earn all four of our Core Values bracelets that display Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect
June 3-7- The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You!: Today is the day, so jump in, buckle up and we will soon learn how to take good care of you! We will play every day to become strong and healthy. You’re important and special. Believe me, it’s true! No one in the world is exactly like you!
June 10-14- You can be… Anything!: You’re off to great places! You’re off and away! Your mountain is waiting so come explore at camp. You’ll be seeing great sights and join the high fliers who soar to high heights!
June 17-21- If I Ran the Zoo: Campers will explore all kinds of animals from across the world at the Louisville Zoo! Campers will create their own zoo and learn all about different animals.
June 24-28- Red Fish, Blue Fish, Green Fish… Shark!: It’s Water Week at the OC Y! Can you be a fish all week? Join us for a fun filled week of water sports, water games and just plain watery goodness. Camp this week will be all about water games and activities.
July 1-5 (No camp July 4)- Future Leaders: Campers will examine the importance of seeing the beauty in the world around us and how to protect it. We will explore the outdoors on the trails around campus, learn how to read a map, use a compass, participate in outdoor scavenger hunts and learn outdoor survival skills.
July 8-12- STEMulation:
Campers are immersed in innovation and hands-on STEM activities daily. Aspiring scientist, engineers and architects work together to imagine, create, and build things.
July 15-19- 1,2,3,4…. We want a Color War: Colors, colors, everywhere! During Color War, campers compete on different teams in activities all around camp while representing their team colors in the all Camp Games. Campers also have the opportunity to get colorful during our Paint War, participate in relay races, capture the flag, and end-all soccer tournament. Campers will come home dirty and colorful!
July 22-26- Wholidays Week: Home for the Who-lidays! Can you heart grow three sizes? The Grinch’s heart surely did according to who-ville that day. We will explore how the Grinch Stole Christmas and other holidays across the world.
July 29 – Aug 2- Be Kind, Be True, Just Be You!: Campers will learn kindness and perseverance from the determined young elephant, Horton. A person’s a person no matter how small. Why fit in when you were born to stand out!
August 5-9- Wet and Wild Week!: Get ready to make a splash during this wet and wild week of camp! Campers will enjoy various water activities such as water bucket relays, water balloons, water balloon toss, water tag and more! Let’s beat the summer heat before you go back to school with some wet, wild and wacky games!
