Learn the basics, improve your basketball skills and make new friends! Here at the Y we make sure that every child gets to play and that games are safe, fair and most of all fun.

Our Y Youth Basketball registration is going on now for kids 3-17. The season runs January - March.

PLAYER ITEMS

When you sign up for Y Youth Basketball, you not only learn how to play the sport, you also get a team shirt, team picture and an end of the season award (ages 3-5) or a team jersey, picture and an end of the season award (ages 6+).

This is an introduction to the sport of basketball and we focus on throwing, passing and shooting. We use a smaller ball and a 5-foot goal. Our officials take an active role in coaching as well as teaching the rules of the game.

Teams practice directly before each game for 20 minutes. Games are held on Saturdays at Atherton High School.

There will be a $15 late fee added after December 5, 2011.

We use a 10-foot goal in this age bracket. All basketball rules apply during games, with limited pressing. Teams play full court in this division.

All teams will participate in an end-of-season single elimination tournament at the Basketball Academy; which will be held during the final weekend of the season (March 10-11, 2012).
