BOARD OF ADVISORS
There is no other volunteer organization quite like the Y. That's because in 10,000 communities across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships not just to promise, but to deliver, lasting and personal change.
The Southeast Family YMCA Board of Advisors is a group of well-informed people who guide the activities and strategic growth of the YMCA in the Buechel, Hikes Point, Bon Air, Klondike and Fern Creek neighborhoods. Board Members share their time, talent and treasure to improve the organization and the quality of services provided.
The Southeast Family YMCA Board of Advisors is working to strategically grow the board to be increasingly representative of the population we serve and to increase philanthropic funds for the greater community.
Board Members commit to three years of volunteer service. They must regularly attend board meetings, actively participate in a committee or taskforce and support all fundraising efforts. Board Members serve as ambassadors and advocates for the YMCA throughout the region. The Southeast Family YMCA Board meets monthly throughout the year.
Inquiries about joining the Southeast Family YMCA Board of Advisors are accepted throughout the year. Applicants will be asked to submit a resume and respond to initial questions regarding their desire to volunteer. Interviews will be conducted throughout the year by our Board Development Committee. A list of Board Candidates will be presented to the existing Board of Advisors for approval. Approved Board Candidates will participate in an orientation and will then begin their service.
