Arcadia
Our Arcadia program strives to provide well-being services
that offer educational and social support for new families adjusting to
life in the United States. One of our key goals is to provide dynamic
programming designed for international children, teens and adults
focusing on these specific areas:

School-Age Child Care
Our year-round licensed school-age child care for kids in kindergarten-8th grade makes sure that your child's time is spent creatively and constructively. We focus our program on character development values which help children learn, grow and thrive.
Y5210
Our Y5210 program teaches kids healthy choices and remind them that
every day, they should consume at least 5 servings of fruits or
vegetables, have 2 or less hours of "screen time, 1 hour of exercise and
0 sugar-sweetened drinks. Research shows a direct correlation between a
student’s health and well being and their ability to succeed in an
academic setting.
YMCA Black Achievers
Our YMCA Black Achievers program motivates teens in grades 8-12 to pursue higher educational and career goals so that they may reach their fullest potential. The Y’s Black Achievers program has awarded millions of dollars in scholarship money since its inception and will continue to serve as motivation and support for minority students.YMCA Higher Education Project
A project funded through a grant from the YMCA of the USA where students, along with their families, meet once and week and are introduced to financial and social aspects of the college entry process. This program incorporates guest speakers, campus visits, tutoring and centered on a frame work that helps remove the "veil of mystery" regarding higher education.
YMCA Youth Achievers
We believe that students should be involved with positive activities from an early age. And that's exactly what our YMCA Youth Achievers program does. Students ages Kindergarten through 8th grade develop social skills and self esteem while making new friends. Our culturally-based program includes educational field trips, workshops on a variety of topics, our spring break trip and more. This program serves as an early introduction to the importance of education.
YNOW
Our YNOW program works with kids and teens, ages 11-15 with at least 1 incarcerated parent. This 12-month mentoring program begins with a 4-day retreat/camp. The retreat is followed by 12 months of 1:1 support from an adult volunteer, and group meetings 2x/month. Special activities throughout the year include fundraising, a youth trip, a lock-in, a community service project, and a graduation celebration.
Upon completion, youth have the opportunity to serve as a Youth Leader supporting the next group, and/or attend alumni gatherings. This leadership experience and the support given to these students is life changing and can lead to better choices, more education, and offer the opportunity for success in life.
