CHESTNUT STREET SUMMER DAY CAMP

AGES 5-13

Campers will grow, thrive and connect with friends while developing the core character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Each fun-filled week will be jam-packed with creativity and excitement as youth enjoy activities, swim lessons, and field trips like bowling, skating, swimming and so much more!

CAMP KICKOFF/PARENT ORIENTATION: MAY 29

This is an opportunity for parents and future campers to familiarize themselves with our summer camp program, facility and staff. Receive important information including calendars and permissions and to have any unanswered questions answered.

SUMMER CAMP WEEKLY THEMES

June 3-June 7: Sliding into Summer Week: Celebrate every day this week as we kick off our exciting summer camp season. Learn, laugh and make new friends by playing traditional and new camp games.
June 10-June 14: Y Rocks on Chestnut (Music Week): Campers will learn about and play a variety of instruments and discover how music plays a critical role in other cultures.
June 17-June 21: Mad Scientist Week: Mad Scientist Week will give kids the opportunity to learn about science through interactive and hands-on science activities. This week will let children become junior scientists for the summer and embark on a series of science adventures!
June 24-June 28: Y-hero Week: Campers and Group Leaders! Unite together to conquer the mid-summer BLAHS! Completing secret (and not so secret) missions.
July 1-July 5: Sports & Fitness Week (camp closed July 4th): Campers will participate in various sports. They will learn the importance of team work and enhance their skills.
July 8-July 12: Summer In Space Week: Campers will learn about planets and constellations, and even build a space ship with fun activities.
July 15-July 19: Under The Sea Week: There’s something about the ocean that makes it so mesmerizing. Maybe it’s the size. Maybe it’s all of the different creatures that can be found in it. Under the Sea Week can be a treasure trove of new discoveries and learning.
July 22-July 26: Y Giving Week (Community Service): In these early years, community service will lay the foundation for responsible citizenship. Campers will learn kindness, respect and empathy and will connect them to others. Campers will build upon their strengths like honesty, responsibility, fairness and compassion.
July 29-August 2: Lights, Camera, Action Week: This week will bring out director, producer, singer, dancer, actor/actress in every camper. Campers will be introduced to the theatre experience by using music, dance and creative games.
August 5-August 9: 80s Throw Back Week: Campers will take a little trip down memory lane with 80s activities, music, fashion, games, to crazy hair-do’s that is sure to have parents smiling and reminisce about their hay days.
August 12 & August 13: Survivor Week: Survivor Week will provide campers the opportunity to use teamwork and leadership skills they learned while at Summer Camp in a real situation.

LICENSING

All of our Y Summer Camps and locations are licensed by the state of Kentucky and are eligible for various third-party childcare reimbursements provided by 3-C, Foster Care, United Way, etc. Contracts must be provided at the time of registration to receive the discounted weekly fee.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

YMCA CAMP PIOMINGO OVERNIGHT CAMP

YMCA Camp Piomingo has been providing community, friendship and fun for over 75 years! You'll build relationships and self-confidence while forming other skills too, from horseback riding, rock climbing and swimming to art and drama. We have so many things for you to explore.
