At the Floyd County Family YMCA Learning Academy, our Preschool and Kinder Prep provides a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to support the cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth of children. Within a safe and nurturing environment, children are encouraged to use their creativity, learn new skills, work and play with peers and experience positive adult role models. Our program is designed to emphasize social emotional development prior to the start of kindergarten.

Monday - Friday mornings: 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Monday - Friday afternoons: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Weekly rates start at $70 per child for facility members and $85 per child for program members. Registration fees apply.

The Y is for everyone. If you're looking for financial help, we offer affordable membership and program rates based on household income. Please stop by the branch or give us a call to discuss whether you are eligible for assistance.

At a Glance
Our Preschool Academy provides a sound curriculum designed to support the cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth of preschoolers (two to five years old). We use Creative Curriculum and believe in children Learning Through Play. The program is enhanced with kids fitness programs, swim lessons and field trips, as well as a healthy snack daily.

Yes. A $25 registration fee will hold your spot for the school year.

Children 30 months old have to be working on potty training. Pull-ups are allowed, but no diapers.

No, you must select either the morning option or the afternoon option.
