OPERATING WITH CARE
We are excited to welcome you to our Ys! The health and safety of our members, volunteers and staff are always our top priority. Please review our Health & Safety Protocols below to become familiar with what you can expect when you visit us. Please keep in mind, these guidelines are subject to change based on new information or additional guidance from heath officials.
The majority of our programs and services are now available. Please check with you branch about specific offerings.
Kentucky: YMCA of Greater Louisville locations in Kentucky require members (age 6+) to wear face masks in all areas, at all times (except while swimming).
Indiana: YMCA of Greater Louisville locations in Indiana require members (age 6+) to wear face masks in all areas, except during cardio workouts or while swimming.
Please also note that we are designating one hour each day from 2 pm-3 pm in which masks will be required even during physical activity in order to serve members who are apprehensive about working out where others are not wearing a masks.
WHAT IS THE Y DOING TO KEEP ME SAFE?
Personal Protective Equipment for All Staff: All staff will be required to wear masks. They will also receive a temperature check and health screenings prior to starting their shift each day.
Creating an Environment that Allows for Social Distancing: All areas inside the Y have been evaluated and redesigned where necessary to help create physical distance between members. Signage is displayed prominently throughout the facilities to drive awareness of this requirement.
Enhancing Facility Cleanliness: In addition to sanitizing equipment by staff throughout the day and the request of our members to wipe down equipment after use, the facilities and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected each day by using products and processes in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the Environment Protection Agency. Also, additional safety stations with wipes, paper towels, hand sanitizers and other cleaning supplies are available.
HOW I CAN HELP KEEP MYSELF AND MY COMMUNITY SAFE
Stay Home If You’re Sick: To help us prevent the spread of illness, members should stay home if they are not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone who is ill.
Bring A Mask, a Towel, a Water Bottle and a Lock for Lockers. See Mask policy for more details. Access to towel services, lock exchanges and vending are currently unavailable to reduce touch points.
Maintain Social Distance: Please exercise only on designated equipment and respect all signage regarding social distancing. Strive to maintain at least six feet between you and others whenever possible.
Remember to Wipe Down Equipment: Please help us reduce the risk of exposure by wiping down all equipment, weights, etc. before and after use with the provided cleaning materials.
Wash/Sanitize Hands Frequently.
