Active Older Adults (AOA) at the Y experience a strong sense of belongingness and a network of friends who provide supportive communities for sustained health and well-being. Through ongoing, fun, safe, and engaging programs, activities and events AOA members increase their self-confidence and sense of achievement while building relationships and celebrating the success and milestones of each older adult within their AOA community.
Older adults are a significant and growing segment of our communities. All AOA benefit from engaging in YMCA activities that enhance connections, decrease a sense of isolation, and improve overall well-being.

Join us for an unforgettable experience at the Speed Art Museum. We will have a guided museum tour, including the current exhibit, Tales from the Turf: The Kentucky Horse, 1825-1950. Fee includes admission, guided tour, lunch at Wiltshire Cafe (includes drink and gratuity), and school bus transportation. Lunch choices are forager salad (roasted apples, pomegranate, candied pecans, butternut squash), chicken salad sandwich or roast beef sandwich. Selections must be made at registration.

Join your AOA friends for a trip to Derby Dinner Playhouse to see Saturday Night Fever! This musical adoption of the classic 70's film is the story of a talented, street-wise kid from Brooklyn who attempts to escape his dead-end life through dancing. The score is a trip down memory lane, and includes many disco-era hits by the Bee Gees. While the backdrop is bleak with racial tension, violence and rebellious teens, Tony finds a way to overcome the tragedies of his neighborhood and keep "Stayin' Alive." This is an adult-themed show.
