The YMCA's youth field hockey includes programs for teams and individuals. Qualified coaches teach the rules of the game and skills to improve stick work.
Field Hockey Intro
At the Y, we offer girls field hockey leagues for individuals and teams. Field hockey leagues are run by the Oldham County Family YMCA. We work on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character building in a fun, safe environment that allows all players to grow in self-confidence and thrive.

VOLUNTEER
Get in the game as a volunteer coach! Volunteer coaches are needed for all YMCA sports. If you’re committed to giving a couple hours a week and want to impact a child’s life, learn more about becoming a volunteer coach.
We offer fall (Oct-Dec) and winter team field hockey (Jan-March) seasons, and a spring (March-May) and fall individual field hockey season (Aug-Oct). Registration typically opens several weeks before the season begins.
Game and practice schedules are released at the start of the season.

Teams Leagues: $675
Individual leagues for girls ages 6-11. Team leagues are open to middle and high school teams.

Field hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in our area. The Y's youth field hockey offerings are open to girls looking to advance in this sport and learn valuable athletic skills.
Program Levels
The Y offers individual and team youth field hockey for girls.

Team Field Hockey
Divisions:
6th Grade Girls
7th Grade Girls
8th Grade Girls
JV High School Girls
Varsity High School Girls
Teams form themselves and will be placed in an age and skill-appropriate division. Each team will play six or eight games depending on season length. No more than 14 players are allowed per team.

Individual Field Hockey
We offer exciting field hockey opportunities for girls working individually. These leagues focus on teaching the rules of the game and improving stick work. Field dimensions, length of quarters and the number of players on the field are adjusted to be age appropriate. Players must provide their own stick, mouth guard and shin guard. All players receive a uniform shirt.
Individual leagues practice at the Oldham County Indoor Arena, games are played at Kentucky Country Day School.
