Why We Offer Financial Assistance
The YMCA is for everyone. We believe no one should be turned away because of financial limitations. That’s why we offer income-based assistance to ensure that all individuals and families can benefit from Y programs and services.
How Financial Assistance Works
As a nonprofit, the Y provides income-based financial assistance made possible by donor support and tailored to each applicant’s unique needs.
We ask recipients to contribute what they can, as a shared investment in their own well-being. Financial assistance is available for:
YMCA Memberships and Programs
School-Age Child Care (3-C and third-party subsidies)
YMCA Camp Piomingo
Application Details
Membership and Program Assistance
To apply for financial assistance for YMCA membership or programs, visit your local Y or call 502-587-9622 to request a confidential application.
You will need to provide:
Most recent 1040 tax return for adults (25+) in the household
If no taxes filed, an IRS transcript or Social Security/Disability Letter is accepted
A valid photo ID
Applications are reviewed within 7–10 business days. Approval letters are sent by mail or email. Renewals must be submitted two weeks prior to expiration.
Child Care Assistance
Our school-age child care programs are licensed and accept 3-C and other third-party subsidies. A certificate for the correct site must be submitted before the child’s start date. Co-pays are based on a five-day rate structure. Parents are responsible for any fees not covered due to expiration or termination of subsidy.

Camp Piomingo
YMCA Camp Piomingo offers income-based scholarships for summer overnight camps. Awards are limited and only apply to eligible sessions.
