NFL Flag Football at YMCA of Greater Louisville brings the excitement of the sport to kids in a safe, inclusive, and skill-building environment. Last year, 508 registrants participated in our flag football leagues, developing athleticism, learning the fundamentals of the game, and experiencing the camaraderie of team sports. Programs are offered at YMCA locations throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana, so more kids in our community can find their place on the field.

YMCA NFL Flag Football introduces and builds on the fundamentals of flag football in a fun, supportive environment focused on skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. All teams are coached by volunteer coaches, practice once per week, and play one game each weekend using age-appropriate fields, equipment, and rules. Each player receives an official NFL FLAG jersey featuring an NFL team name, and games are led by YMCA officials who emphasize learning and encouragement.
Ages: 5–11 years (Co-ed teams)
Season Dates:
- Spring League: (March-May) Registration opens in January
- Fall League: (September–October) Registration opens in June
Programs are offered at YMCA locations throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana.
Practice & Game Schedule:
- Teams practice once per week on weeknights
- Games are typically held on weekends
- Schedules are based on coach and venue availability, parent requests, and holiday/weeknight conflicts

- YMCA Facility Members: Starting at $120
- Program Members: Starting at $145
- Fees may vary by age division
Program Levels
U7 Co-ed (Ages 5–6)
This introductory level focuses on basic skills like flag pulling, catching, and throwing in a fun, non-competitive setting. Players learn positions and simple plays while building confidence and teamwork.
U9 Co-ed (Ages 7–8)
Players begin to expand their football knowledge with more structured practices and gameplay. Teams learn offensive and defensive formations, route running, and game flow while emphasizing sportsmanship and skill development.
U12 Co-ed (Ages 9–11)
This level offers more advanced instruction and game strategy. Players practice techniques for passing, receiving, coverage, and play execution. Games follow more formal rules and include a season-ending tournament.
