Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes. All SECA scans require a 15-minute appointment. Fit3D sessions must be booked through the Oldham County Family YMCA.

How long do scans take?

  • SECA: 24 seconds
  • Fit3D: 40 seconds

How does the SECA Body Composition Analyzer work?
It uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)—a low, safe electrical signal that moves differently through fat, muscle, and water to determine health metrics like muscle mass, body fat, and hydration.

Who should not use the SECA scanner?
Individuals who are pregnant or have pacemakers, prosthetics, or electrical implants should not use this device.

What does the SECA scan measure?

  • Total weight
  • Body fat percentage
  • Skeletal muscle mass
  • Water ratio
  • Visceral fat
  • Basal metabolic rate (BMR)

How should I prepare for my scan?

  • Scan at the same time of day
  • Avoid intense workouts 24–48 hours before
  • Use the restroom beforehand
  • Don’t drink large amounts right before
  • Wear similar clothing for consistency
  • Note: Medications, illness, and menstruation can affect results

Will someone review my results with me?
Yes. A Healthy Living Coach will go over your results and help you understand what they mean for your fitness goals.

Do I need the SECA app?
No. Your data is saved and accessible to your coach—even if you don’t use the app.

How often can I scan?
SECA scans can be done every 4–6 weeks. The system will not allow repeat scans within four weeks.

How do I access my Fit3D results?
You’ll receive them via email, and you can also log into fit3d.com to view your progress.
