YMCA Camp Piomingo is guided by the mission of the YMCA of Greater Louisville:
To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
At camp, this mission comes to life in every cabin, trail, and campfire. Whether it’s a quiet moment of reflection or a high-energy ropes course challenge, we create space for kids to grow—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
A Tradition of Leadership & Growth
Since 1938, YMCA Camp Piomingo has empowered youth through outdoor challenge and values-based programming. Campers grow in:
- Character through shared experiences and responsibility
- Confidence by taking on new challenges
- Courage through encouragement and safe risk-taking
Leadership development is woven into the camp journey, with older campers stepping into mentorship roles and preparing for future positions as Counselors-in-Training (CITs).
