How It Works

Our licensed School-Age Child Care program provides a structured, enriching environment during the critical hours before and after school.

Children benefit from:

  • Homework help and academic enrichment
  • Hands-on activities that build self-esteem and life skills
  • Supervised free play, games, and healthy snacks
  • Social-emotional development aligned with Y values

Staff are CPR and First Aid certified, background checked, and receive ongoing training to provide a safe, nurturing environment. We meet or exceed all state child care licensing standards.

Why Choose School-Age Care at the Y?

Character-Driven Curriculum

With a focus on caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, our program helps kids grow as learners and leaders.

Flexible and Reliable

Whether you need care every day or just before or after school, we’re here to support your family’s schedule.

Readiness for Real Responsibility

Babysitting is more than a job—it’s often a teen’s first experience with leading, managing time, and making safety decisions. Our course supports those big firsts with hands-on learning and expert guidance.

School Breaks, Snow Days & In-Service Care

School Break Camps

When school is out, we offer full-day care that’s active, fun, and safe—with themed enrichment, group games, and field trips.

Snow Days

In the event of school closures, we offer full-day care from 7 am to 6 pm (weather permitting) for currently registered families. Care is first-come, first-served and children must bring a lunch and appropriate winter clothing.

In-Service Days

We provide full-day care during school in-service days. Families must pre-register. Children should bring a sack lunch; the Y provides morning and afternoon snacks.
