Safe Place Needs You
Volunteers are the heart of YMCA Safe Place Services. From mentoring youth and supporting outreach to keeping our facilities welcoming and safe, your time and presence make a life-changing impact.
No matter your background or availability, there's a meaningful way to get involved.

Y-NOW Mentoring
Help break the cycle of incarceration. Volunteer mentors support youth with an incarcerated parent by offering stability, encouragement, and connection through the Y-NOW Children of Prisoners Program.

Street Outreach
Join our outreach teams as they engage homeless teens and young adults across the community. Volunteers help distribute supplies, build trust, and share information about available services.

Safe Place Pick-Up
Provide critical transportation by picking up youth at local Safe Place partner sites and bringing them to our Shelter House. Volunteers in this role are often a young person’s first step toward safety.

Youth Development Drop-In Center
Support young people ages 16–22 who are homeless or at risk. Volunteers at the Matt Kubancik Youth Development Center assist with daily operations, programs, and outreach.

Board of Directors
Lend your expertise as a member of our Board—working alongside civic and business leaders who are passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable youth.

Board Committees
Support our mission through service on committees focused on development, board engagement, and increasing awareness of our programs.

Special Events
Help bring our signature events to life—including the Turf Classic, Together4Teens Breakfast, and Community Luncheons—through hands-on event prep and support.

Group Projects
Volunteer as a group (5–25 people) to assist with property upkeep, improvement projects, and other hands-on tasks at Safe Place facilities.
