New American Welcome Center

The New American Welcome Center is committed to offering immigrants the integration services and opportunities needed to be self-reliant, connected and contributing members of the Louisville.  Key areas of service include language and education; health and wellbeing; citizenship and civic engagement; economic integration and employment; community development.  Through providing equitable accessibility, our goal is to help our new neighbors overcome barriers to reach their fullest potential.

Key areas of service include language and education; health and wellbeing; citizenship and civic engagement; economic integration and employment; community development.  Through providing equitable accessibility, our goal is to help our new neighbors overcome barriers to reach their fullest potential.

The New American Welcome Center is based at the Chestnut Street Family YMCA and Southeast Family YMCA. We offer Newcomers the following opportunities:

  • English as a Second Language classes
  • Employment readiness program
  • Cultural and language clubs
  • Connection to See Forward Ministries and Newcomer Academy
  • Assistance to participate in YMCA programs (Safety Around Water, swim lessons, youth sports, childcare, and summer day camp)
