Why Mental Health Matters
Mental health influences how we think, feel, and act—and it plays a vital role in our ability to cope with stress, build relationships, and thrive.
Ongoing Awareness & Education
Throughout the year, YMCA of Greater Louisville partners with local organizations to host mental health workshops, panel discussions, and community conversations. These events are open to the public and designed to normalize the conversation around mental health, build resilience, and connect individuals to helpful resources. See upcoming sessions below.
Mental Health Workshops
In observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, the YMCA of Greater Louisville is hosting a number of classes, both in-person and virtual, on essential mental health topics. Workshops are FREE and open to members and the public.

Perfectly Imperfect: Self-Compassion Art Cards
May 20 | 1-2pm (includes lunch at 12:30pm) | Floyd County Family YMCA
Art and Self-Compassion collide as we use tools to remind ourselves that we are only human, just like everyone else. Often the focus of compassion is outward and it can be difficult to find ways to be compassionate to ourselves. The goal is to begin to build a deck of self-compassion cards to be used when we most need it and enjoy each other’s company in the process.
