YMCA Camp Piomingo’s Teen Camps offer programs for teens ages 13-17 that build confidence, leadership, and connection—whether they are exploring the outdoors or stepping into mentor roles, it’s a powerful next step in their camp journey.

Bold & Gold (13-17 yrs)

Ages 13–17 | 1 week

These guided off-site expeditions take campers beyond Piomingo to explore incredible natural destinations in small-group settings (6–8 campers with 2 instructors). All equipment is provided.

 

Session 1: June 22–27, 2025 – Cliff Climbers - $1,250
Rock climb at Red River Gorge, hike and explore caves at Natural Bridge State Park, and spend four nights camping under the stars. Wrap up with a full day of climbing guided by local experts, then gather around a campfire with s’mores.

Session 2: July 27–August 1, 2025 – Kayak Campers - $1,250
Take on the New River in West Virginia with overnight kayaking, swimming, and riverside camping. Paddle through scenic landscapes, jump into deep pools, and close out the trip with a final night bonfire before heading home.

Leaders-In-Training (15-16 yrs)

Ages 15–16 | 2 weeks

LIT is the first step in Piomingo’s leadership development pathway. Campers participate in traditional camp while also engaging in team-building, communication workshops, and service projects. This two-week experience is designed to help teens grow in confidence, build peer relationships, and prepare for future roles as mentors and leaders.

Counselors-In-Training (16-17 yrs)

Ages 16–17 | 3 weeks
For those ready to take on responsibility, CIT offers immersive, hands-on leadership development. Teens shadow camp counselors, assist with younger camper groups, and build skills in decision-making, conflict resolution, and group management. Enrollment is by application and interview.
