How It Works
If you love the water and want to take your swim workouts to the next level, the 100 Mile Swim Club is for you.
Your challenge:
Swim 100 miles in a calendar year. That’s 1,650 yards per mile, or roughly 3,173 yards per week. You’ll break it down into manageable laps and track your progress over time—whether swimming every day or just a few times per week.
How tracking works:
- All tracking is done on the honor system
- You can log miles from any YMCA pool—or even other pools you use
- Track your laps using forms available at your branch or the pool deck
What Does a Mile Look Like at My Y?
Each pool's lap distance may vary slightly. Here’s how many laps equal a mile at each location:
- Clark County / Floyd County / Northeast / Southeast: 33 laps (66 lengths)
- Downtown / Oldham County: 35 laps (70 lengths)
100 miles = approx. 3,300–3,500 laps depending on the branch.
