Summer Overnight Camp
Overnight campers ages six to 16 enjoy one-, two- or three-week-long overnight sessions from Sunday until Saturday during June, July and August. Campers stay in cabins with top-notch counselors and enjoy all the fun activities YMCA Camp Piomingo has to offer, including the pool, ropes course and other traditional camp activities.
Pioneers (Ages 6-12)
Pioneers (Ages 6-12)
The one-week Pioneer program is divided into two separate camper units: Shawnee and Mingo. Campers live in traditional cabins with meals served from the dining hall. Campers build friendships while participating in typical camp activities, such as the ropes course, pool, archery and BB guns. Campers have some input in their schedule with morning clinics, which develop skills such as climbing, arts and sports.
Explorers (Ages 10-13)
Explorers (Ages 10-13)
The two-week Explorer program resides in the Cherokee unit, where campers live in traditional cabins with meals served from the dining hall. Explorers experience traditional camp activities during their first week and spend the weekend challenging themselves and growing as a group. Explorers spend the second week experiencing new activities, such as rock climbing and axe throwing.
Equestrians (Ages 10-16)

The two-week Equestrian program resides in the Cherokee unit, where campers live in traditional cabins and have meals served from the dining hall. Equestrian campers take group horseback riding lessons, organized by ability, and given daily instruction. Their schedule also allows for some traditional camp activities such as the pool, archery and axe throwing.
Camp Crafters (Ages 13-15)

The Camp Crafter program resides in the Creek unit, where campers live in traditional cabins and have meals served from the dining hall. Camp Crafters take part in intermediate-level activities that emphasize group problem-solving and teamwork, and will be encouraged and challenged to develop their leadership skills. One- and two-week options are available.
Trailblazer (Ages 14-16)
Trailblazer (Ages 14-16)
The Trailblazer program is a limited-space week for teens interested in off-camp adventures. The Trailblazers spend Monday through Friday at Red River Gorge in Slade, Kentucky.
Counselors in Training (Age 16)
The Counselors in Training (CIT) Program is for 16-year-old campers who wish to eventually become camp counselors at YMCA Camp Piomingo. A CIT spends three weeks at camp developing leadership skills, identifying and achieving goals, improving communication and decision-making skills, and contributing to the overall improvement of camp. This program resides in the Creek unit, where campers live in traditional cabins and have meals served from the dining hall.
