  • Youth standing outside smiling in front of friends

    Chelsey and Shelter House

Chelsey felt the support of Shelter House staff when she found they could help her advocate for herself. “Like hundreds of others, I finally had the strength to take that first step, to save myself.”

Every year, Shelter House takes bold steps to make sure over 600 youth and families have the tools and connections they need to not only survive but thrive.

Elijah had been living in an adult homeless shelter for three months when he was approached by YMCA Safe Place Service’s Street Outreach worker Brianna. “She reassured me that things could get better and that I was capable of changing my life.” Each year our Outreach Program touches the lives of over 500 young people with information about how to access immediate help.
